Lee Burras is a Morrill Professor at Iowa State University (ISU) in the Department of Agronomy. His Associate Directorship for CSRL is focused on increasing crop yields through better soil mapping, testing and management. He annually teaches a field soil classification and management for ISU students and ISU-UP interns at the Mpirigiti Training Center as well as a wide range of resident and travel courses on campus and internationally. Lee’s research focuses on soil formation, human-induced soil transformations and inherent soil productivity. Lee’s holds a BS in Agronomy and a MS in Soil Science from ISU (1981 & 1984, respectively). He earned his PhD is in Agronomy & Soil Science from The Ohio State University in 1992. Prior to joining ISU Agronomy in 1995, Lee was an Assistant Professor at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette.
