- Entrepreneur Extension Assistant
Namwase Peninah was appointed in 2019 to the position of youth facilitator under the youth entrepreneurship program (YEP). She holds a diploma in agriculture. She developed a passion for agriculture, having come from a family of farmers, which greatly inspired her career choice. In her current position as the Entrepreneur Extension Assistant, her role focuses on supporting beneficiaries and students working under the YEP. She supports in and out-of-school youth individually and those in entrepreneurship clubs and youth groups to initiate, manage, and earn from their agricultural enterprises. She has helped popularize home gardening as a source of income among secondary school students, which has helped many of them stay in school. Her work with out-of-school youth farmers provides relevant agronomic and financial literacy training, as well as constant technical support, and has helped improve output and income from their enterprises. She aspires to create a system of trained and empowered youth who are change agents in their communities.
